Imran Khan discusses COVID-19 with Justin Trudeau
ISLAMABAD:
PM Imran Khan talked to his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau on phone and
discussed the situation arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Imran Khan
pointing towards virus-crisis offered profound condolences over the loss of
precious lives. Prime Minister terming the pandemic as unprecedented calamity,
called for closer international cooperation.
PM Imran
Khan said that Pakistan along with other developing countries was confronted
with the twin challenge of saving lives and containing the infection, while
simultaneously handling the economy affected by shutdowns.
Stressing on
the need to create greater fiscal space for developing countries to save lives,
and undertake coordinated action to ward off socioeconomic challenges, the
premier hoped that Canada

status of repatriation of each other’s stranded nationals from their respective
countries. Prime Minister expressed deep concern over demonisation of the
Muslim minority in India in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
