It’s Queen’s birthday: Her majesty to hold celebrations on Zoom
LONDON: Today is 94th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.
But there won’t be any annual celebrations of a gun salute as the world is
suffering from coronavirus pandemic.
This would be the first time in the 68-year of reign of Her
Majesty that the usual birthday formalities including a parade and a formal gun
salute would be scrapped.
But there are hundreds of Queen’s admirers who want her to
celebrate her birthday in a unique way. So, the media reports have claimed that
the monarch will throw a virtual party on video conferencing software Zoom.
“The Queen will be having a virtual party on her 94th birthday
on Zoom where she will be joined by the rest of the royal family members for
the special occasion,” said a report. “Aides have been planning to set-up video
calls to mark the celebration instead, allowing the Queen’s children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren to wish her a happy birthday.”
